Spacious play areas allow children to explore to their fullest while providing adequate exposure to fresh air and sunlight.
The curriculum is crafted following the Montessori method to instill confidence and independence in children.
“The greatest development is achieved during the first years of life, and therefore it is then that the greatest care should be taken. If this is done, then the child does not become a burden; he will reveal himself as the greatest marvel of nature,” Dr. Maria Montessori.
The children’s house U-Thant is located in the heart of Malaysia’s capital, offering a beautiful preschool in Kuala Lumpur, nestled between tall, green trees. Carefully designed keeping in mind the deep connection between nature and development of your child, U-Thant provides a 1.5-acre spacious compound with exclusive facilities and latest playground equipment to create a constant opportunity for exploration and fun.
The Montessori Method believes that every child is born a sensorial explorer, and that’s why U-Thant allows children to explore the outdoors and indoors freely as they embrace the potential of the first of its kind – a Montessori Cottage in The City.
Built with the purpose of stimulating creativity in children, the Atelier tree is a key feature of the preschool that your little one will completely love. It is a massive tree with an atelier built around it. The atelier has been specially designed with glass windows including the rooftop to ensure your child gets sufficient sunlight and can enjoy the outdoors to get inspiration for creating artwork. All the original work from the centre will then be displayed in the Children’s Art Gallery.
Not only that, the Alfresco Dining area at U-Thant adds to the perfect childcare facilities for your little one. So your child will be able to enjoy the cool air and the freshness of the surroundings under the shade of the soothing trees right here at the preschool in Kuala Lumpur.

The U-Thant preschool in Kuala Lumpur recognises the importance of nature or play-based learning in the early years of your child. Every activity is carefully designed to encourage the social, cognitive, emotional and physical development of the child. Most of all, it triggers the sense of curiosity and creativity in children, which helps them develop problem-solving skills required to be successful.
As children interact with the environment and learn to take care of their surroundings, a sense of responsibility and kindness develops. Eventually, children learn to identify their emotions, express them, and respond effectively. They develop great self-esteem and it drives them to follow their passion and be the best version of themselves. This enables a smooth transition to higher levels in school where children are able to cope with the challenges and competition.
This Montessori Cottage stands out with the iconic red French windows, furnished with modern learning spaces. The programmes available at The children’s house U-Thant include Montessori Playgroup for Pre-toddlers and toddlers (8 months – 2.5 years old) and Montessori Junior for Nursery and Preparatory (2.6 to 6 years old).

As always, our prepared environment is purposefully designed, child-centred and stimulating. A non-competitive and nature-inspired learning atmosphere opens the child’s mind to learning and ultimately activates their desire for lifelong learning.

We would like to commend Aunties Zandra and Sabrina in particular for consistently delivering high quality sessions that engage the children – the effort in lesson preparation, setting up special interesting filters, making finger puppets etc., are noticed and appreciated. We appreciate all the hard work being put in to make the best of the situation. Please keep it up and we wish all of you best of luck as we navigate the new challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Ryan loves The children’s house. He has developed into this fearless, sweet, polite, warm and gentle boy, all thanks to the good education and love from his aunties and friends.”
“When my daughter, at two and a half turned to me to utter her first sentence in English, then she spoke French to her father and to my mother’s helper in Malay, I understood why Dr. Maria Montessori described the child’s mind as magical!”
“We will never forget the day we brought Chloe to your school for a visit. We asked her if she liked the school in all its bright red and white tones and she said yes without hesitation. She refused to leave when it was time to go after being given some time to play with the other children.”
“My involvement with The children’s house began 28 years ago when I was looking for a preschool for my daughter. I searched high and low for the one that fulfilled my checklist – quality education, a clean environment and dedicated, friendly staff. I visited 8 preschools, but none matched my expectations. Finally, I stumbled upon a quaint, red and white preschool along Jalan Ampang called The children’s house, which was also recommended by a friend. It was one of the best accidental finds of my life.”
