Children are equipped with necessary life and academic skills for a seamless transition into formal schooling through the prepared environment.
The Montessori teaching method allows children to learn at their own pace while developing confidence and independence.
A spacious environment that encourages exploration and collaboration.
Welcome to The children’s house (TCH) TTDI 2 Senior, a new division of our centre built to facilitate children’s preschool journey with advanced learning opportunities. Sharing premises with TTDI 2 Junior, the new centre offers 4 – 6 year olds an exclusive space to explore and experiment for a comprehensive learning experience while preparing them for the next stage of learning.
While our growing community is one of the reasons for the emergence of TCH TTDI 2 Senior, this new division focusses on equipping children with necessary skills to excel in the next level.
Established in 2022, the move to expand our signature red and white structure is to empower our aunties and children with numerous classrooms, each with its unique design and learning tools to stimulate children’s innate ability to learn, develop and grow.
To ensure seamless transition to formal education, the prepared environment is arranged with learning materials that enhance children’s life and academic skills. Our spacious outdoor play area allows for hands-on experience with nature while encouraging them to engage in discussions, collaborate in activities and play together. The children’s experiences are further strengthened through sensorial activities such as water play. These experiences help children to work, collaborate and play effectively while adapting to new environments when they move to Primary 1.
TTDI 2 Senior continues to follow the scientifically-proven Montessori curriculum, while providing age-appropriate work that encourages independence through various Montessori inspired activities, play and class collaboration. Our non-competitive environment allows children to take control of their learning journey, with minimal guidance from aunties, and learn at their own pace. One of the significant differences between Junior and Senior levels is the complexity of tasks.
At the Senior level, children step away from play-learning and focus more on academics such as reading, writing, language and mathematics to prepare them for Primary 1. Our aunties are tasked to facilitate this transition through positive reinforcement and guidance to ensure each child feels competent and confident enough to journey to the next level of their education.

As a Montessori preschool, we know the impact of an environment conducive to learning to a child’s cognitive, emotional, social and physical development. Therefore, we strive to build an environment that nurtures and facilitates a holistic preschool journey for our children. And the prepared environment provides just that.
The prepared environment is the Montessori’s concept of an environment that gives children freedom of learning, unlimited exploration and spontaneous interaction. It is an open space carefully equipped with age-appropriate learning material that matches each child’s interest and developmental needs.
At Senior level, the learning materials are less of play-learning and more focussed on enhancing children’s life and academic skills. Children are paired with complex learning tools to stimulate critical thinking and form innovative solutions. This enables them to think out-of-the-box and take up challenges or face new environments with confidence.
The prepared environment is selectively arranged to motivate children to be more independent and develop an “I can do it” attitude. The classroom is filled with child-sized furniture and learning tools to aid children in independent learning and discovery. The aunties, on the other hand, facilitate the learning process by helping the child connect with their subject of interest while maintaining the organised structure of the environment. A child that feels competent and capable of self-discovery will have more confidence to face new challenges and experiences.
The Senior’s classroom is also prepared to equip children academically before they enter formal education. Complex learning tools are given to stimulate pincer grip that strengthens their motor skills which significantly improves their writing skills. The manipulable feature of our learning materials concurrently enhances children’s knowledge on mathematics, literacy, science, geography and history. Paired with stimulating water play, children are given ample opportunities to explore their senses and indulge in different sensory experiences while honing their focus and concentration skills which are necessary attributes for children entering formal learning.

“Ryan loves The children’s house. He has developed into this fearless, sweet, polite, warm and gentle boy, all thanks to the good education and love from his aunties and friends.”
“When my daughter, at two and a half turned to me to utter her first sentence in English, then she spoke French to her father and to my mother’s helper in Malay, I understood why Dr. Maria Montessori described the child’s mind as magical!”
“We will never forget the day we brought Chloe to your school for a visit. We asked her if she liked the school in all its bright red and white tones and she said yes without hesitation. She refused to leave when it was time to go after being given some time to play with the other children.”
“My involvement with The children’s house began 28 years ago when I was looking for a preschool for my daughter. I searched high and low for the one that fulfilled my checklist – quality education, a clean environment and dedicated, friendly staff. I visited 8 preschools, but none matched my expectations. Finally, I stumbled upon a quaint, red and white preschool along Jalan Ampang called The children’s house, which was also recommended by a friend. It was one of the best accidental finds of my life.”
We would like to commend Aunties Zandra and Sabrina in particular for consistently delivering high quality sessions that engage the children – the effort in lesson preparation, setting up special interesting filters, making finger puppets etc., are noticed and appreciated. We appreciate all the hard work being put in to make the best of the situation. Please keep it up and we wish all of you best of luck as we navigate the new challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
