We at The children’s house are firmly committed to Montessori’s idea that transforming the process of children’s education can help transform the attitudes of the adults whom they would later become, contributing effectively to society and making that crucial difference.
Our teachers are warm, loving, nurturing and respectful of every child. Teaching is indirect-neither imposes on nor abandons the pupil. Out teachers are ever mindful of the need to help the child achieve his/her goals.
They are dedicated, involved and trained to ensure that the children benefit fully from the prepared environment. Many have been with us for over 10 years as they truly enjoy the harmonious and respectful working environment at The children’s house.
Our teachers are qualified with at least a Diploma in Montessori, Diploma in Early Childhood Education or have been trained in-house with an Intensive Montessori Certificate. They are also continuously enriched and exposed to international best practices through training and development courses.
Many of our teachers have grown with us from the very beginning and are committed to providing the best learning experience for our children.
It has always been Dr. Montessori’s belief that parents, educators and caregivers have an important role as stimulators of healthy brain growth in children.
Research has revealed that 70% of brain development occurs by the time the child is three years old. She advocated that every parent should observe and nurture children relying on instincts and natural inclinations.
The children’s house strives to shape it positively from the start. We believe that children, parents, educators and the environment form the circle of love – A harmonious environment that is responsive to the ever changing needs of children.
The prepared environment is clean, safe and beautiful, where children can easily move and access ‘purposeful activities’ with teaching materials that are classified into Practical Life, Sensorial, Number Work, Language and Culture. The materials are multi-sensory, sequential and self-correcting. Furniture and fittings are child-sized, and wall mountings are at child’s eye level.
Our Montessori environment undergoes constant refurbishments and is meticulously designed to ensure that it is conducive and stimulating for the ever-changing needs of the child. The focus is to encourage self-directed learning to reach the child’s potential in all areas of development namely physical, social-emotional, intellectual and creative
