Welcome to The children’s house Ampang Hilir, where every developmental milestone is celebrated and cherished.
Since 1990, The children’s house Ampang has stood proudly, serving its blended community of local and international families.
The children’s house Ampang has been providing immersive Montessori experiences to children between the age of 18 months to 6 years. We are focussed on instilling grace and courtesy and a lifelong love for learning in children while nurturing independent, self-sufficient children.
Within the signature red and white facade on a colonial heritage building, the preschool in Ampang Hilir has nurtured thousands of children from all over the world for over three decades of traditional excellence in the early childhood education industry.
It’s important that the school continues to be innovative and evolve according to the latest guidelines in Early Childhood Education.
Within these three decades of service, the preschool would like to extend the experience to more children!
We have always strived to give only the best to our children within the prepared environment; equipping them with the skills and knowledge within a safe and comfortable environment for optimal learning.

“Ryan loves The children’s house. He has developed into this fearless, sweet, polite, warm and gentle boy, all thanks to the good education and love from his aunties and friends.”
“When my daughter, at two and a half turned to me to utter her first sentence in English, then she spoke French to her father and to my mother’s helper in Malay, I understood why Dr. Maria Montessori described the child’s mind as magical!”
“We will never forget the day we brought Chloe to your school for a visit. We asked her if she liked the school in all its bright red and white tones and she said yes without hesitation. She refused to leave when it was time to go after being given some time to play with the other children.”
“My involvement with The children’s house began 28 years ago when I was looking for a preschool for my daughter. I searched high and low for the one that fulfilled my checklist – quality education, a clean environment and dedicated, friendly staff. I visited 8 preschools, but none matched my expectations. Finally, I stumbled upon a quaint, red and white preschool along Jalan Ampang called The children’s house, which was also recommended by a friend. It was one of the best accidental finds of my life.”
We would like to commend Aunties Zandra and Sabrina in particular for consistently delivering high quality sessions that engage the children – the effort in lesson preparation, setting up special interesting filters, making finger puppets etc., are noticed and appreciated. We appreciate all the hard work being put in to make the best of the situation. Please keep it up and we wish all of you best of luck as we navigate the new challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
I remember running around outside in the garden and playground with my friends and classmates pretending we were the power rangers, and celebrating Chinese New Year with dance performances for our parents in the garden, and in the classrooms, we had trays with various different activities/skills we could take turns to learn. I remember the silver polish/belt polishing tray, the tea pouring tray, the vibrant red chairs and the red and white checkered tablecloths during lunch, and a mouth-watering chicken and soy sauce dish with rice.
I started there when I was 5 which is 33 years ago! My mum was friends with Auntie Nan. I loved the food there, especially the chicken in a tomato/soya sauce. Auntie Nan said that I always loved threading up beads and would spend hours doing so and they would leave me to it. The Aunties made me love school and I actually came back to do some teaching experience during my school holidays before I started studying my BA in Primary Education. Auntie Nan wanted me to come back and teach at one of her schools and be in charge of the Arts but I wanted to stay in the UK!
